Kai Fagaschinski (clarinet) The Berlin-based clarinetist focuses on a subtle musicality of sound and noise phenomena. As an autodidact he has developed an anomalous language on his instrument delicately exploring a wide range of multiphonics. His music is rooted in abstractness, including an insidious expressivity and a pre-melodic quality. He works on the borderline of composition and improvisation, with a preference for long-term collaborations.
Fagaschinskis current projects include The International Nothing (psycho-acoustic clarinet duo with Michael Thieke), The Dogmatics (duo with pianist Chris Abrahams), The Magic I.D. (song project with Margareth Kammerer, Christof Kurzmann and Michael Thieke), Musik (compositional duo with Burkhard Stangl), Los Glissandinos (with sine waver Klaus Filip), Here Comes The Sun (with Gunter Schneider and Barbara Romen), and Berlin's 24-piece Splitter Orchester.
He toured all over Europe, North America and East Asia and released plenty of albums with his groups.
