Bukvić, Dalibor 




Composer and pedagogue Dalibor Bukvić (Sinj, b. 1968) graduated in composition from the Academy of Music in Zagreb in the class of Stanko Horvat. He attended the Darmstadt Summer Courses in the class of Karlheinz Stockhausen and Luca Lombardi. On receiving the French government fellowship he studied at the CNSM Conservatory in Paris (Department of Electroacoustics in the class of Laurent Cuniot), at the Boulogne National Conservatory in the class of Michel Zbar and at the IRCAM Summer Academy in Paris. From 1996 to 2008 he lived in Paris and taught at several conservatories in Paris, Ivry sur Seine and Fontenay aux Roses. He has lived in Zagreb since 2008, where he teaches music theory at the Academy of Music. He writes for solo instruments, chamber ensembles, choir and orchestra, theatre, film, television and contemporary dance. He received the Stjepan Šulek, Josip Štolcer Slavenski and Boris Papandopulo awards for his works. He has collaborated with Croatian theatres and ensembles, as well as with the Griftheater from Amsterdam, the Alchemistes from Paris and the Dance Mission from San Francisco. His works have been performed by various musicians and ensembles from Croatia and abroad, and were recorded for labels Cantus, Croatia Records, Orfej HRT, Ganga Music (Međugorje) and Etiprint (Zagreb).
